Sandburg Baseball Quieted at Home by No. 10 Blackhawks

Nationally ranked Southeastern (Iowa) collected 12 hits — seven for extra bases — and took advantage of 11 walks issued by the Carl Sandburg College baseball team to beat the Chargers 21-3 on Wednesday at the Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.

Key Moments
After the teams exchanged three-run rallies in the first inning, the Blackhawks, ranked 10th in NJCAA Division II, tacked on three more in the second, two in the third and blew the game open with a 10-run fourth to make it 18-3. 

Sandburg Standout
Freshman Jack Swain (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) delivered a two-run single in Sandburg’s half of the first and drew a walk later in the contest.

The Chargers (2-2) host Kankakee in a doubleheader at noon Saturday.
